Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-07
e-mochampet.gr is a map of Pontian festivals across Greece. This policy explains what data we process when you visit the site, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
The site is run by a private individual ("the operator of e-mochampet.gr"). For any question or request about your data: xaralampos.sid16@gmail.com.
What we process
Server logs
For every request the server automatically records your IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, your browser type (user-agent) and the referring page. This is used only for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating the site securely.
- Retention: a short period (typically up to 30 days), then deleted.
- It is not combined with other data and is not used to identify you as a person.
Browser local storage
We store two preferences on your device: language (pontia_lang) and
light/dark theme (pontia_theme). They stay in your browser, are never sent
to the server and are never shared. They are strictly necessary for the site to
remember those choices, so no consent is required. You can clear them from your
browser settings.
We use no tracking cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no social-media pixels.
Location ("Near me")
If you tap "Near me", your browser asks your permission for your location. If you grant it, the coordinates are used only inside your browser to sort festivals by distance. They are not sent to our server and are not stored anywhere.
- Legal basis: your consent (via the browser prompt), which you can withdraw at any time in your browser settings.
Map (OpenStreetMap)
Map tiles are loaded from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF). When you view the map your browser talks directly to OpenStreetMap, which necessarily receives your IP address and tile requests. The OSMF privacy policy applies. The map library itself is hosted on our own server — no other content delivery network (CDN) is involved.
Poster images and event content
The details of each festival (title, place, date, organiser, performer names and sometimes photos on the poster) are collected from organisers' public announcements — for example public social-media posts and public event listings — and republished to inform the public about public cultural events. They are served from our own server.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in informing the public about public events.
- Source: publicly accessible sources (Art. 14(2)(f) GDPR).
- We do not seek to collect special-category data. If a poster contains any, we will remove it on request.
- If you appear in a listing and want it corrected or removed, email us and we will act on it.
For copyright in the posters, see the Terms of Use.
Contact
If you email us, we process your address and the content of your message only to reply.
Processors
The site is hosted by a hosting provider acting as a processor on our behalf. The map is provided by the OSMF as described above.
Transfers outside the EU
We do not actively transfer data outside the European Economic Area. The OpenStreetMap Foundation is based in the United Kingdom, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise them, write to xaralampos.sid16@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
We make no automated decisions, do no profiling and do not sell data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date it last changed is shown at the top.
